Why "Your Labs Are Normal" Doesn't Always Mean You Feel Normal

4 min read · By Dr. Heather Cucchetti, DO

If you have been told your labs are normal but you still feel tired, foggy, flat, or simply not like yourself, you are not imagining it. Standard lab ranges are designed primarily to flag disease, not to describe optimal function. There is a real and meaningful gap between 'not sick' and 'feeling well,' and traditional medicine is not usually set up to live in that gap.

Most reference ranges are built from large population averages. That makes them useful for catching outliers and ruling out serious conditions, which is essential. It also means a result can sit comfortably 'in range' while still being a poor fit for you, your age, your goals, and how you are functioning day to day.

Regenerative medicine takes a different approach. Instead of stopping at the question 'is this abnormal?' the conversation continues to 'is this where you want to be?' Symptoms are taken seriously even when individual numbers look fine, and patterns across multiple labs and your story are considered together.

At Vivantis Health & Wellness, Dr. Heather Cucchetti, DO sits down with you, listens, reviews the labs in context, and looks at the whole picture. That may include hormone evaluation, metabolic markers, and other areas relevant to your specific concerns. From there, a plan is built around your goals. Individual results vary, and recommendations are always personalized.

If your visits have ended with 'everything looks fine, we will see you next year,' but the way you feel says otherwise, a regenerative medicine consultation is worth considering.
